Three years ago a scientific study was conducted by a large job board. They put 30 recruiters in a room and studied everything about them; how they read resumes, what they looked at and they timed how long a recruiter read a resume. They put a stopwatch to it and they also used eye-tracking software to study where recruiter’s eyes went as they read resumes.

About 6 seconds is all you get so you need to make the most of it! This is assuming your resume even gets read. Did you know that 97% of resumes never get read? Most people don't really know what happens to their resume after applying for a job.
